Packing:

Summer Packing list: bathing suit, walking shoes, hat, sunscreen,

We wish we packed: aloe, flip-flops/water shoes, the sand is HOT

We wish we left behind: Huge suitcase, it’s just not worth it over the cobblestones.

Winter Packing List: Rain jacket, closed toe shoes, light sweater

We wish we packed: Sunglasses

We should wish we left behind: Shorts… we were a little too hopeful.

Greece Food

The Food:

Average cost of lunch: €10-15

Tipping: Usually just round up. Make sure you leave it on the table or give it directly to the waiter.

Atmosphere: Busy, but relaxed

The best place to have lunch: Street vendors! “The Street food is legit”

You HAVE to try: Baklava, Gyro, Greek Salad

Everything Else:

Total spend on souvenirs: €75

Coolest thing you bought: Really cool shoes, greek spices, and olive oil soap.

Free time: Take a walk. There are so many tiny side streets to get lost in–you never know what you’ll find!

Hidden gems: Mykonos. Not really hidden, but definitely overshadowed by Santorini when it’s just as, if not more, beautiful.

Advice: I know everyone is wondering. The G in Gyro is silent. It’s pronounced Yee-Ro. Also, actual greek salad does not include lettuce.

Best Part: The sunsets. Worth the hype.
